Floors Come True is a small family owned flooring company based out of Bolingbrook Illinois. On this small business Saturday we wanted to take a moment to talk about the top reasons to support local family owned businesses in our community, and share a few of our favorites. But first let me start by saying how incredibly thankful we are for the support that so many of you have given to us since starting our company in 2016. If it weren't for the friends and neigbors in our community we would not be a growing business and for that we are truly grateful.

Here are a few of the best reasons we can think of to support local family owned businesses in our community.

1. Local family owned businesses are more likely to utilize other local businesses such as, restaurants, service providers, and farms.
2. For every $100 you spend at local businesses, $68 will stay in the community.
3. Independent retailers return more than three times as much money per dollar of sales to the community in which they operate than chain competitors.
4. Independent restaurants return more than two times as much money per dollar of sales than national restaurant chains.
5. Small businesses employ 77 million Americans and accounted for 65% of all new jobs over the past 17 years.

Small local businesses are owned and operated by your neighbors. We care about and are invested in the well-being of our community and schools. We are more accountable to our communities and donate more money to non-profit organizations and we leave a smaller carbon footprint then larger companies. There are plenty of ways you can support the small businesses in our community. As a family owned business we can think of no better way to celebrate small business Saturday then to share some of our favorite local businesses.
