Phase one of this job was adding new solid hardwood and finishing with a lighter color than what the customer had previously in some areas of the home. When we started the job we realized that some of the wood could not be refinished as it was engineered and only had a thin top layer. We quickly adjusted the plan to provide new wood in those areas and we were able to keep our original timeline. The customer also took this opportunity to have us retile their hall bathroom floor.

This is a repeat customer for us. A few years ago we installed the vinyl in their lower level. Unfortunately that same material was not available as it has been discontinued. We worked with our suppliers to find a very similar visual for their upstairs.

Our customer recently closed on the purchase of this new home. Underneath the carpet were hardwood floors that we were able to restore. We used a Golden Oak stain and three quotes of high quality polyurethane.

Integrated new wood with existing and sanded stained and finished to match. Also updates the railings, posts and balusters including a new squares off starting step.

This client had the same laminate flooring installed by two separate contractors. Both areas had their own challenges. So we uninstalled and then properly installed the areas removing a transition between the rooms. The whole space feels unified and larger now.

Customer had a screened in porch with a wood plank floor. So, it was basically a 3 season room without heat or air conditioning. Her goal was to make the space more usable for upcoming holiday entertaining. With the addition of this berber carpet from Mohawk we helped warm up over 300 square feet of space for her future gatherings.

Ready for new carpet. Client primed the subfloor to help with some previous dog accidents. The new carpet is pet friendly and the pad has a moisture barrier to help prevent this in the future.

Quick visit to replace a plank in the middle of this kitchen of a floor we installed a few years ago. With a floating floor like this beautiful Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) it is possible to disassemble the floor, replace the damaged plank and then put the floor back together again.

Even though we have some weights in place while the glue dries, the customer says it looks good as new. We installed this Acacia floor over 4 years ago. Client had some water damage from the condo above his. We carefully removed the damaged planks and replaced with some of the extra wood we always leave behind when we do an install. Better to have and not need than to need and not have. So glad this worked out.

We worked with a new partner (General Contractor) to to give these stairs new life and new carpet as they prepare this Bronzeville townhome for sale. Pie shaped stairs and several landings gave us reason to bring our A game today.

Picking replacement carpet for a beautiful townhome so that it can be ready for its next tenants. Sometimes the owner/landlord/manager can't be present, so they trust us to suggest styles and colors that are not only rental friendly, but also work with with the rest of the unit's style.

Hardwood Sanding is underway and new railings, post, balusters (spindles) in process. Sometimes when refinishing some planks need to be replaced because as you take off thin layers you change the boards. Adding stain and finish can exaggerate this, so better to replace before applying any stain or finish materials. This is also a great time to add flush wood vents if you did not already have them.

Carpet and pad can be like a map. Once they are unfolded really hard to get them back to the original size.

When the customer wanted to refresh their home's look without a full carpet replacement, we replaced the upstairs hall and stairs with a new carpet that beautifully complemented the existing bedroom carpets. This approach provided a clean and updated appearance while allowing the homeowner time to plan for future updates.

After noticing the need for a durable and stylish flooring solution, we installed our popular "Caramel" color of LVP. With concrete subfloors, we ensured a solid foundation by applying a 6mil vapor barrier following thorough floor preparation, which included filling cracks and leveling. The result is a beautiful and functional space. Client's neighbor even popped her head out to ask for our information and ended up buying the exact same floor a few weeks later.

Carpet and ceramic flooring were outdated and needed replacing for a fresh look. We removed the old materials and prepared the subfloor for a smooth finish, ready to install the new luxury vinyl floor, MANNINGTON APEX NAPA BARREL. The hardwood stairs complemented the upstairs wood, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the lower-level family room.

We are converting a carpeted family room into hardwood to coordinate with the rest of their main level wood. And while we're at it we're going to refinish the stairs and railings to better coordinate with the floor color. One of the first steps is to undercut the fireplace for a seamless look. Shoe and final coat of finish being applied. This was Loba Hybrid premium finish in Satin. The painter (not us) will be along in the coming days to paint the risers, spindles, posts and railings.

Brand new home about to get a brand new garage floor coating. Even new concrete need a bit of prep work before the coatings are applied. Here we are grinding the floor before the basecoat is applied.

Customer just bought the house but the previous owners had a dog that did some extra damage to the stairs. We found a carpet with the same construction look feel and very similar color. When carpet is older it is very difficult to get a color match so we pick the best spot to do the transition to make at least noticeable.

Customer was getting a new kitchen and moving walls. We stepped in to change all of the flooring in the house except upstairs bathrooms. New Luxury Vinyl Planks from Karndean set the stage. Then we custom-stained new solid white oak stair treads and new white oak post and railings.

This couple recently closed on their house and are eager to move in. We were able to accommodate their schedule which included installing new prefinished hardwood in the upstairs converting carpeted stairs to solid hardwood stairs and then refinishing the existing hardwood on the main level. The customer also had some subfloor damage created by water leak at their back door. We were able to repair the subfloor and that section of hardwood flooring as well. Since we were already doing some custom stain work we also created some matching toe kicks for their cabinets which were missing from the previous owner. It's the little details that make all the difference in a project like this.

This customer was taking apart their room to repaint it and thought they may as well get the floor refinished in the process. These photos were taken during the estimate. In a few days we will be adding some flush hardwood vents and refinishing the floor to look like now. Looking forward to some after pictures

Yes, we carpeted the pool deck! The customer's pool had to be replaced. This this was the perfect time to re-carpet the deck. Normally as flooring professionals we don't think about the weather that much. But for this job we did not only have to work around installer's timeline but also what mother nature had in store for us. We got lucky and there was no rain in the forecast but it sure was a hot day in the sun.

Day 1 of 3 for this floor transformation. Upstairs wood getting refinished. Living room carpet being replaced. And the kitchen will be skim coated then get an updated LVP look. We will be on time and on budget ready to turn the house over to painters in plenty of time to do their thing so the new tenants can move in as planned.

There's lots of work to do before the actual work can begin. This is a hardwood refinish client just wants to keep the color but make it look brand new. Start off with removing the shoe molding and masking off for dust control.

Sanding done. This picture is called "water popping". It is a step many refinishers skip, but it is very important for a good finish. Helps the color absorb more evenly. After this we will be applying a natural stain color and 3 coats of water based finish. This will end up looking like a natural floor with oil finish which will best coordinate with the clients existing handrails.

Fun little project. Due to some foundation work that needed to be done client needed a new floor. On Monday we removed 2 layers of glued down bamboo and vinyl flooring. On Tuesday the foundation was fixed. We came back on Wednesday to install the new vinyl plank flooring, new baseboards and new shoe. Ready for paint!

Client had a hardwood floor with a surface that really didn't hold up. Rather than replacing, we opted to refinish the wood. Looks like a new floor and they chose a crisp "Winter White" color with a much more durable finish than the original. A few planks were badly damaged, that we replaced them before sanding.

Client called us to refinish her hardwood floors. At the estimate, we saw that they had removed some ceramic tile in the process of widening a door. As part of the refinish, we're going to make this transition look intentional and well-designed which will give the clients more options as they decide what to do with the kitchen tile in the future.

Customer had an existing ceramic floor, but was tired of the grout and wanted a fresh look. To simplify the project and saveinet, we left the well stuck tiles in place and skim coated them to make a proper surface tj attach new luxury vinyl tiles. New look, no grout and a happy customer. Trim work to be done by the customer later to complete the project.

We removed some laminate floor that had seen better days and are putting in a new waterproof lvp flooring. These are beautiful 9x60-in planks with a very contemporary visual.

This is our third job for the same customer. She has been adding to her rental portfolio in this Coach House community in Yorkville. After some floor prep to the concrete, this lovely ground floor unit is getting a durable LVP floor in the living room, dining room, kitchen and bath and a soft carpet for the spacious bedroom. Once we are done, she will have her painters come in and the unit will be ready for her lucky tenants.

About a year ago the customer had new prefinished hardwood installed by another company in a few of their rooms. We are here now to refinish their existing hardwood floors to better compliment the newer pre-finished floors. We custom blended colors for customer to choose. In a few days everything will be blending much better and look new.

Client had some water damage and during the remediation, a section of carpet was removed. After the drywall and painting was all done, it was time to address the missing carpet. The original carpet was in relatively good shape. While it was not possible to find a match to the older style, we also identified a good spot to transition from original carpet to to new carpet. This kept the total cost down for the client.

The original installer (NOT us) of this flooring did not leave appropriate expansion gaps around the edges. In the higher humidity months the floor expanded and caused the transition pieces along the perimeter to fail. We removed the transition, cut back the flooring and are reinstalling the original transition and a few new pieces. The floor will be safe and back in use on no time

Today were we finishing the hardwood floors next week we'll put a new carpet to get this home move-in ready for the client.

New stairs, railings, post and balusters

Work in progress today. Some Dreamweaver Blazer III carpet for the LR and 2 bedrooms that the client can't help but sit right down on while we are installing and some new LVP for the kitchen. All of this compliments the tile the client had in the entry as if everyone was bought at once. She made some great choices!! And to finish it off we custom stained new shoe moulding for the kitchen and replaced the toe kicks on the cabinets with white so they blend instead of standing out.

Freshly refinished hardwood floors and brand new carpet will help get this home ready to sell. The painters will be here next to give a fresh coat of neutral paint and the house will be ready for a for sale sign.

Trim is going to be done by the kitchen company, but other than that this one is a wrap. Multi-width distressed hickoey (solid) in a color called Toast. The direction changes in the back of the house due to change in floor joist direction.

New homeowners getting a new floor (or at least a freshly refinished one). Sometimes we don't notice a problem with a floor until all the furniture is moved out. In this case, a fish tank did a number on the oak hardwood floor. We replaced the boards. And in another room, a tub was removed leaving holes in the floor. Now it is like those things never happened. Selection made and color can go down soon.

Day 1 of refinish project. Adding a wood stairnose where there used to be metal. Adding flush wood vents where there was previously drop in metal vent covers. And a great shot to show the difference in color from years of sunlight exposure.

Can't share interior pictures for a claim in progress, but we are hoping to help get these clients back in their home quickly. It has been a long road for them after a fire.

New flooring for a houseboat. This presented some challenges due to some flex in the structure and the potential that the houseboat may not be kept at room temperature year round. We chose a combination of Mannington rigih core plank for what is essentially a three season room (covered but not under heat or air conditioning ( and a glued down product for the rest of the house which we attached to Mannington Underlayment (MUL) creating the best of a glued down and floating floor.

Hardwood Refinish in process. We still mask off the cabinets even though the dust extraction on the machines does an excellent job. This client is going lighter than the original color. To avoid lines at the shoe moulding we remove the trim so we can sand and recolor up to the baseboards. Numbers on the tape make reinstallation much easier.

With a little floorguy magic, we levetate the office furniture and will install modular carpet tiles underneath. Way more efficient and less disruptive to this busy office and the professionals that work here.

And that is a wrap. Ready for paint. Client said the only downside is that now he has a lot of work ahead of him to make the walls and trim look as good as the floors.

Great example of a homeowner making lemonade out of lemons. When carpet in one room of the basement had to be removed it was hard to find another carpet to compliment the rest of the remaining carpet that was in great shape. Instead, we found a glued down LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) to coordinate with the carpet on the other side of the door to give new life to this room. Great color that has been been very popular lately called Lime Washed Oak.

Dropped off some beautiful Shaw laminate to acclimate prior to installalation. This is a beautiful shade of gray with three different width planks.

Carpet is up and the concrete subfloor had some levelness issues. Nothing a little patch can't fix. Now ready for new LVP.

Preparing for new carpet. This client chose a moisture barrier pad which also gets sealed at joints. This will make the new carpet much more pet and spill friendly and protect the subfloor.
