Like most of you, we are monitoring the effects of coronavirus (COVID-19) and the health concerns facing our communities. As a result, we have adjusted our operations to focus on meeting your flooring needs while keeping everyone involved as safe as possible.  

We have taken numerous actions to do our part in helping limit the spread of the virus, while remaining open to provide our homeowners, business, and government clients with products and services that could be key to contributing to the safety and health of their homes, families, facilities and team members.

As a shop-at-home company with a distributed workforce our team has always had the ability to work from home whenever possible. For that reason, our day to day operations have had minimal impact.  No member of our team will be asked to visit suppliers or customers if they are not comfortable doing so, or if they exhibit any symptoms or illness.

We understand many of our customer are spending increased amounts of time in their homes that can put a stress on many of the home’s critical systems. To make essential projects more affordable, we have increased the terms of our no-interest payment plans with most projects using these plans requiring no, or minimal down payment.

Priority will be given to the following clients, projects and circumstances:

• Safety concerns (e.g. trip hazards, allergies, non-contagious respiratory concerns, etc.)
• Sanitation concerns (e.g. showers/baths, kitchen or bathroom floors, soiled flooring, etc.)
• Unforeseen damages (e.g. fire or water damage)
• Improvements needed for occupancy
• Vacant properties or unoccupied businesses or multi-family or assisted living units
• Immediate projects (e.g. not exploring ideas for next year - though we are happy to discuss these via phone or video calls when available)
• Other projects as available.

Consultations

• We are asking that if you, or anyone in your household is feeling ill that you immediately notify us to reschedule your appointment.
• We also ask for your understanding if we must reschedule a consultation due to changes in our team member availability.
• A typical day for a flooring consultant involves no more than 3 appointments or visits to separate houses.
• All consultants monitor and record their temperatures each day and use appropriate personal sanitizer before and after each appointment.
• We will practice social distancing and limit contact (including handshakes). While we enjoy meeting across from your kitchen table, we can discuss your project while being more than 6 feet apart.
• Our use of laser measuring devices and computer-aided drawing tools minimizes the surfaces that our flooring professional touch during a consultation and the overall time needed to produce an accurate estimate.
• Our Mobile Showrooms are company owned vehicles which are routinely cleaned, even more often under current conditions.
• We will be extra diligent in discussing product options before any samples are brought into your home.
• Any samples or estimating equipment that is taken into an appointment is cleaned prior to being placed back into the mobile showroom. If immediate cleaning is not possible (say, due to weather) the sample/equipment is sealed in a bag or other container until it can be properly cleaned.

Installations

• We are asking that if you, or anyone in your household is feeling ill that you immediately notify us to reschedule your installation.
• We also ask for your understanding if we must reschedule an installation due to changes in our team member availability or unforeseen disruptions to our supply chain.
• As of the writing of this update (April 3^rd) our supply chains remain open. Some manufacturers have slowed or stopped production, but they have ample inventory and continue to fulfill orders. 
• All of our suppliers are also following enhanced CDC guidelines. This is not much different for our industry. For example, the first human to touch your new carpet is likely the installer. Most materials come wrapped from the factory and are handled by forklifts right up to the point we’re bringing it into your property. 
• Most installers will only be in 1 home/property per day.
• Standard installation guidelines dictate that customers stay out of active work zones, so personal interaction with installation team shall be minimal, if any.
• New flooring materials will not be transported with old flooring material removed from another customer’s property. In some instances, this may mean that old material removed from your property may be placed outside temporarily while we arrange for its separate pickup.
• We recommend that after your installation is complete that you clean any furniture or contents that we moved along with any other surfaces that the installers may have contacted (doorknobs, railings, bathroom, etc.). This has always been customary after any installation and is facilitated by the fact that most of your furniture and surfaces are cleared off in preparation for the project, so it is the perfect time to thoroughly clean these surfaces.

Our clients always have the final say in how and when we work with you. Your safety, trust, satisfaction and comfort level inviting us into your homes are our top priorities.   As always, we are honored and humbled by your invitation and appreciate the opportunity to serve you.
